Melbourne's own Shooting Range

If you are a gun nut then my apologies for the below average pun but this really is something. The School of Culture and Communications (Cinema Studies) at the University of Melbourne has been running a side programme in association with Kismet Film Productions. They have been doing this for the past 16 years! Did you know that? They offer a course over the summer that is eloquently titled 'From Script to Screen'. From the looks of it it appears to be an all round crash course into practical film making.

The course however will make your bank statement look rather amusing to some of your slightly deranged mates (watch your back - the knives may be out) but what the hell - it looks promising doesn't it?

Have a look at it and hope to see you there.

24 Hrs | Fps

The Filmmakers' Guild will be organising the 24 Hour Film Shoot for Mudfest in Sem 2, so if you are even the smallest bit interested, send us a mail at film.unimelb [at] gmail.com because we are always happy to hear from you.

24 hours to create a film isn't too hard, is it? IS IT??? Sure it isn't. Films all come in different shapes and forms and sizes, and for the 24 Hour Film Shoot, we're gonna get groups to create films of the short variety, and stitch em all together to make one heck of a feature film. In 24 hours.

Details ain't finalised yet, but from the looks of it, we're going to try to make it as chaotic as possible, just for the heck of it. Random groups, a random prop, a random word, and the list might go on and on.

... because all you need is actually just a camera.

Send us an email if you're interested or have any questions.

Film is life, at 24 frames a second, 24 hours a day. Experience the magic of film: the interlacing of art and life as student filmmakers are given 24 hours to weave their own short stories, cumulating in a student mosaic where anything and everything can happen!
